Strawberries are arguably one of the most fragrant and delicious berries on earth, but did you know that the little seeds on those tasty berries make an amazing oil?
Sweet Nourishment
Strawberry Seed Oil is a rich source of vitamins A, B, and E. This dark green oil has many skin-loving vitamins, minerals and fatty acids vital to maintaining a youthful complexion. Strawberry seed oil is especially rich in boron, potassium, fluorine, phosphor, magnesium, cobalt, sulphur, and calcium. Strawberry seed oil has nearly the same amount of vitamin C as many citrus fruits. And this remarkable oil is one of the best sources of ellagic acid, a powerful antioxidant also found in pomegranates, red raspberries, and walnuts. The multiple skin benefits of ellagic acid are still being discovered, but it is very clear that adding this oil to your skincare routine can help skin retain a youthful, supple and even appearance.
Oil From a Little Seed
Strawberry seed oil is produced the traditional and natural way by cold pressing the seeds. Seed oils are extracted without the use of chemicals or solvents at temperatures below 100 degrees Fahrenheit which ensures that the full essence and character of the oil is preserved. This careful process ensures that the valuable nutrients, minerals, and ellagic acid are preserved. It’s that simple – no heating, no refining – just pure, healthy oil.
How to Use
Much like rosehip seed oil, strawberry seed oil is considered to be a dry oil. Its fast absorbing properties and the faint scent of strawberry make this one of my favorite facial and massage oils. As with any cold pressed oil, it’s best to keep the heat low when using in your skincare formulations to retain the skin benefits this oil offers.
