We’re so excited to announce our newest product release, retinol serum. Retinol serum is an extremely popular skincare product, especially in beauty lines geared toward aging skin. But what benefits does retinol have for your skin, and how does our new serum work to deliver these benefits? Even more pressing, is retinol for everyone? Read on for answers to these questions and more, plus a look into the science behind our innovative new aging skin bestfriend.
Why retinol?
Let’s start with a basic run-down on how retinol works. Retinol has exfoliating properties, which in addition to keeping your pores clean help slough away dead skin, making room for a fresher, more youthful looking complexion. Retinol is one of the most extensively researched skincare ingredients with plenty of positive, science-backed conclusions. But even though we know retinol works, the presence of retinol in a product alone isn’t enough to give you the vibrant, glowing skin you’re after.
Who should use retinol serum?
Many retinol serums are fairly potent, and it can take time to your get skin used to retinol. While retinol is proven to work, it is important to get used to the product in small increments to avoid upset skin. Our retinol serum contains skin-soothing vegetable glycerin, which helps calm the complexion and boost moisture when applied. Its multi-faceted blend of retinol and bakuchiol makes this serum powerful while still staying fairly gentle on skin, as bakuchiol is known to be more mild than retinol.
While retinol is typically included in more advanced beauty lines for mature or aging skin, this serum can reach a broader market, as it is suitable for customers who have sensitive skin or are new to using retinol. Just remember—for sensitive skin or retinol beginners, apply a face cream or lotion before applying the Retinol Serum to reduce potential irritation.
Other ingredients (and why they matter)
While retinol is the star ingredient in our newest serum, we’ve added a range of other ingredients to help boost retinol’s effects and give skin multi-faceted age support. In addition to 0.5% retinol, we’ve added 0.5% bakuchiol, a plant-based retinol alternative that’s currently trending in the beauty industry. Plus, niacinamide and bakuchiol act synergistically in this serum to heighten its overall effects. And finally, vegetable glycerin joins the mixture to sooth skin, add moisture with its humectant properties, and help calm any potential negative effects of retinol.
