Lilac Concealer is very easy to make, but the instructions must be followed exactly. It is quite heat sensitive and the ingredients must be combined and the finished product packaged without interruption or delay once you’ve started the process. Make sure you have your ingredients, equipment and packaging all lined up in advance and enough time set aside to complete the process in one go. If you have to reheat the finished product to package it the lilac color will be lost and will be left with a grey product.
You will need:
14.5 fl. Oz (13.45 oz) Basic Melt & Pour Lip Balm
1 cup + 2 tsp. (50 tsp.) Titanium Dioxide
2 tsp. Manganese Violet
A 30 oz measuring cup
Two small Pyrex bowls
A Hand Held Mixer
Your choice of packaging
This recipe makes 23.166 fl. Oz or 685.12 ml of Lilac Concealer, which would fill 1.44 single wall 16 oz PET Jars, or 34 large (20 ml) make up jars or 137 small (5 ml) make up jars.
Begin by preheating the 14.5 fl. Oz Basic Melt & Pour Lip Balm on the stove top allowing it to melt completely. Once the Lip balm is melted, pour it into your Pyrex measuring cup and add the 1 cup + 2 tsp. Titanium Dioxide to the Basic Melt & Pour Lip Balm. Now add the 2 tsp. Manganese Violet to the Lip Balm and Titanium Dioxide. Using the hand held mixer, blend the product thoroughly and quickly! The Manganese Violet and Titanium Dioxide will combine to create the desired lilac shade. The mixer can cause air bubbles to form, so immediately after mixing, gently stir the product before pouring it off.
Remember that the product cannot be reheated at this point, or the lilac color will be lost. If for some reason you are interrupted and have to reheat the product you can add another 2 tsp. Manganese Violet to restore the color. The lilac shade will not be as vibrant, but it will save the product from being wasted.
This DIY Lilac Concealer is similar to Essential Wholesale & Labs’ Pink Concealer. It can be used to normalize sallow complexions, to cover yellow bruises and to help conceal dark spots on bronze skin tones.
Enjoy!
