David is a skilled formulation chemist with over 30 years experience in the beauty industry, including product R&D and production. From picking the perfect ingredients to scale-up and production, he loves developing new and innovative products, and perfecting formulas to be as effective and efficient to produce as possible. His specializations include botanical extractions as well as the chemistry behind skincare actives. In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his son and his dog.
Veleda
Veleda has spent over 15 years developing botanical beauty and self-care products throughout Europe and the USA. She has experience with a wide range of earth friendly formulation techniques, including ethical wildcrafting, anhydrous formulation, and botanical fermentation for natural product preservation. Her specializations include fermented skincare, mushroom-based skincare, terpenes, aromatherapy, and plant-based, organic formulation. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, nature, and travel.
Chris
Chris has over 25 years experience in the cosmetic formulation industry, and for the last 6 years has specialized in active ingredient delivery systems to maximize the effects of skincare actives. He loves discovering and working with new, cutting-edge ingredients, and is especially interested in terpene chemistry, particle size analysis, and microfluidics. Currently, he is working on maximizing Essential Wholesale & Labs’ capabilities with regards to mushroom powered skincare, botanical infusions and extractions, marine based skincare, waterless cosmetics, and more. In his spare time, he enjoys being in nature, reading and researching, and spending time with his assorted koi and two dogs.
John
John has worked with Essential Wholesale & Labs since 2018, and has taken on a variety of roles on our lab team. He keeps the flow of our complex lab functions running smoothly, ensuring that our formulas are created as efficiently as possible. He specializes in streamlining our lab processes and quality control, and loves witnessing the daily collaboration and innovation of our formulators. In his spare time, John enjoys travel, art and cinema, cooking, antiquing, record collecting, and cats.
Jacob
Jacob has an extensive background in quality control as well as product safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). He is especially interested in plant biology and chemistry in addition to developing innovative stability testing and product analysis methods. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, nature, and playing music.
