Simply Perfect Yoga Mat Spray
This Yoga Mat Spray will help keep your mat clean and fresh smelling. Your feet and hands and arms and legs and nose will thank you.
Unlike most recipes, we do not recommend using Alcohol, Witch Hazel, Vinegar or water & essential oils. Alcohol and Witch Hazel can dry out your mat, resulting is cracking and flaking. Vinegar is best used on non-porous surfaces. Water and essential oil may make a very pleasant aroma, but it will not help keep your yoga mat clean.
Ingredients (pre-measure)
- 7 Cups De-ionized Water
- 1 Cup Castile Soap
- 5 Tablespoons Polysorbate 20

- 1/4 Teaspoon Lemongrass Essential Oil
- 1/4 Teaspoon Patchouli Essential Oil
- 2 Teaspoons Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil

Directions
- Blend together 7 cups De-ionized Water with 1 cup Essential Wholesale and Labs’ Castile Soap and set aside.
- In a separate container add 1.5 Tablespoons Polysorbate 20, ¼ Teaspoon Tea Tree Essential Oil, ¼ Teaspoon Lemongrass Essential Oil, ¼ Teaspoon Patchouli Essential Oil, and 2 Teaspoons Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil.
- Mix the Polysorbate 20 and Essential Oils very thoroughly until they are completely homogenized. (The Polysorbate 20 is an emulsifier and will keep the essential oils from separating from the spray’s water base. If you are not concerned about separation you can skip the Polysorbate, but you will have to shake the mixture very thoroughly before using it in order to remix the water and oils).
- Next pour the Essential Oil/Polysorbate blend into the container of De-Ionized Water and Castile Soap. Stir the contents until completely blended and voilà! Simply Perfect Yoga Mat Spray!
How to Use
This Simply Perfect Yoga Mat Spray can be used for daily cleaning. Simply spray onto a wet cloth, wipe down the mat and allow it to air dry. For a deeper cleaning spray directly onto the mat and allow the spray to sit for 3 -5 minutes. A vigorous scrubbing with a wet cloth will work the Castile Soap base into a rich lather. When sufficiently cleaned, wipe the lather off with a clean wet cloth and allow your mat to air dry.
Now enjoy your next yoga session with your cleaned and freshened mat!
